PROJECTS

Soap Making Skills Training
The “Hand Washing Liquid Soap Skills Training for Women Leaders” project, implemented by Women for Tomorrow-SL (W4T-SL), aimed to equip local women leaders with practical, life-saving hygiene skills to combat the spread of infectious diseases such as monkeypox, diarrhea, and other communicable illnesses. In response to rising health concerns in underserved communities, the project provided intensive hands-on training on the production of liquid soap, emphasizing its critical role in hand hygiene and disease prevention. By focusing on women leaders, the initiative strategically leveraged their influence within communities to promote sustainable hygiene practices and public health awareness.
A total of 50 women leaders from various local communities participated in the training sessions, where they learned step-by-step techniques for producing affordable, high-quality liquid soap using locally available materials. At the end of the program, each participant received a comprehensive start-up kit, enabling them to replicate the training within their own networks. This cascading model of knowledge transfer is designed to multiply the impact of the intervention, empowering hundreds of additional women and households with the skills and tools to maintain hygiene and protect community health. The project not only promotes disease prevention but also enhances women's economic empowerment through potential income-generating activities.
